History of the library

The Alger Public Library serves all the residents of the Upper Scioto Valley School District. The library is located in the village of Alger in Hardin County Ohio. As a public library in Ohio, the Alger Library’s service area is defined as the entire Upper Scioto Valley School District, including the villages of Roundhead and McGuffey, but library services are available to any Ohio resident.

With an Alger Public Library card, you can borrow books, large print books, audio books, DVDs, Blu-rays, video games, and more! Cardholders have 24/7 access to the library's online library to download eBooks and eAudioboooks, stream digital videos and electronic magazines, & access research databases and online learning courses from any location where Internet connection is available.

Who is eligible to get a library card?
All Ohio residents may apply for an Alger Public Library card.
