Summer Reading Kickoff

Wednesday, June 8, 2016 - 2:00pm
Bounce houses, face painting, a hula hoop contest, tug of war, sack races, jump rope, hopscotch, worm races, and bubbles are all part of our big Summer Reading Kickoff event at the Racine Library. Plus, Captain America and Anna from Disney's Frozen will make an appearance! Stop by from 2:00 - 4:00 pm for the first event of the summer.
This is the first of a series of programs offered weekly from June 8th through July 22nd.

Readers of all ages will explore all things sports and fitness this summer as the Meigs County District Public Library presents "On Your Mark, Get Set...READ" during our summer library program beginning June 6th. Activities include presentations, art projects, physical challenges, group games, and more.
Each program, after the Kickoff, is held at the Pomeroy Library at 2:00 pm. To go out with a bang, the Summer Reading Pool Party will be held at the London Pool in Syracuse during the final week of the program. Registration for the Summer Reading Program begins on May 23rd. Participants who read 25 books or more will earn a certificate for a free mini pizza from Pizza Dan's in Rutland.  All programs are free and open to the public.
