Children's Summer Reading Program

The Meigs County District Public Library hosts a series of programs in the summer months for children to encourage reading and provide activities while school is out of session. Weekly performances at the Pomeroy Library feature magicians, cartoonists, live animals, science exhibits, and more! Prevent the summer slump at the library with 7 weeks of educational and recreational programs for the whole family to enjoy!
The program begins with a "BANG" at the Summer Reading Kickoff event held at the Racine Library each year.
Enjoy programs, story times, lunch, and prizes throughout the summer.
We conclude the summer with a celebration at the London Pool in Syracuse.
Local businesses sponsor prizes, and rewards for completing reading challenges. Personal size pizza coupons from Pizza Dan's are awarded to children who complete their reading challenges, and t-shirts are given to the first 100 children who attend 3 or more programs.
